There isn't anything that comes close, as far as I am concerned. I bought this tool after reviewing it at a trade show. So if you are a pro trim carpenter (I do ALOT of speciality millwork and stair work) bite the bullet, swallow hard, and put out the cash outlay for this tool. I already own a Multimaster. This tool met all of my expectations, in fact, I am ordering replacement blades as I have used all that was provided. If you have a need for these types of cuts, you will not regret it. I am totally satisfied, and would recommend this tool to anyone who needs to make the type of cuts this tool is capable of.
The Fein SuperCut tool held up fine (no pun intended) while being thrown around in its case during shipping. Also you have to remove the vacuum port to fit the tool back into its case. I would definitely recommend the Fein FSC 2.0-CK SuperCut with Carpenter kit to other craftsmen.More instructions on the use of the tool would be helpful, such as speed settings.
I must say the packing for shipping the product was the worse I have seen and hardly gave any protection to the product. I also purchased the vacuum attachment which works well but looks like it was designed as an after thought. I can't the same for the interior of the case which is feeble plastic and breaks easily.
The depth accessory worked well. This tool worked well for replacing an exterior door, triming back siding around an electric meter box, and other remodeling tasks. The long electric cord was invaluable.
It should be built into the tool itself and not be a clunky cast metal add-on that is held on with poorly designed metal spring clips. Maybe I'll take out the broken liner and replace it with a couple of sheets of sponge.
I love this tool. I'm a professional remodeler and several times a week this tool saves me lots of time. It's also a pleasure to use, which is not a small thing. It's much more powerful than the multimasterthat my co-worker got. The multimaster is more for the weekend warrior, if you do this kind of work40 hours a week, I recommend the supercut.
